About Us

AIM collects, processes, edits, publishes, and distributes aeronautical data and information essential for the safety, regularity, and efficiency of air navigation.

As the authoritative aeronautical information source for Sri Lanka, the AIM Office provides quality-assured, tailored data and information to Air Traffic Management (ATM) and airspace users 24/7. In addition to aeronautical data, AIM services include a centralized ATS Reporting Office (ARO), an expert help desk for pilot support and the International NOTAM Office (NOF) for Sri Lanka. AIM Sri Lanka also publishes the Aeronautical Information Publication (AIP) in accordance with ICAO Annex 15 standards.

The primary objective of the AIM is to ensure the timely dissemination of information necessary for the safety, regularity, and efficiency of international and national air navigation within the Colombo Flight Information Region (FIR). All information is compiled, processed, published, and distributed as aeronautical information products. AIM Sri Lanka comprises five key departments:

  • 1. International Notam Office
  • 2. Aerodrome
  • 3. AIM HeadQuarters
  • 4. Cartography & GIS
  • 5. Quality Management
